It was build during the XVII° (seventeenth) century and it is one of the most iconic ex-vote building in the North of Italy.
Every 10 years, it takes place a religious festival, during which a Mary’s picture is celebrated by local people.
On the building you can admire some nice representations: on the southern side there are French soldiers with red coats, while, on the northern side the Imperial army, with white uniforms.
In the middle there is a procession towards the sanctuary, while on the edge of the painting, there are the farmers.
According to the legend, Mary didn’t allow the armies to invade Provaglio Val Sabbia.
